TREATMENTS

Each person is unique and our treatments are designed to meet individual needs.

We will evaluate the problem area in order to identify specific structures, including myofascial trigger points (contraction knots), which are frequently at the source of pain. Dry trigger point needling is then performed in order to alleviate symptoms arising from the blockage or trigger point which, after its release, encourages good “flow” throughout the body.

Underlying energy "deficiencies" in the acupuncture meridians are also noted and treated in order to restore the body to energetic balance. Treating underlying deficiencies and releasing blockages helps promote healing and prevent re-occurrence of the injury.

Ailments Treated

  • neck and back pain
  • headaches
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • tennis elbow
  • shoulder injuries
  • knee injuries
  • ankle injuries
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • fibromyalgia
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • stress

Combining acupuncture theory with the physical therapy approach of releasing myofascial trigger points and stress holding patterns, allows Acupuncture Physical Therapy to help many problems that are not responsive to other more common interventions such as medications, chiropractic or physical therapy. In addition to traditional acupuncture and release of myofascial trigger points, craniosacral therapy is also incorporated, particularly for the treatment of headaches and TMJ.

As with any form of healing, your attitude, diet, determination and lifestyle will affect how you will respond to treatment.

We encourage patients to actively participate in their healing process. Appropriate , personalized therapeutic exercise is offered including Qigong, Yoga and more traditional Physical Therapy exercises. Long standing conditions will be relieved only with slow, steady progress.

Athletic Performance

Acupuncture Physical Therapy is not only used to treat ailments. Athletes often use acupuncture to achieve optimum performance.
